Help!Belt on my grinder running off to one side

Hi guys,
I built my own grinder from plans that I got from Bertie Rietveld in South Africa.
The belt tension works with a spring that pulls the motor back. Everything works fine except that when I apply good preassure in the grind the belt runs off to one side. All I can think is that maybe my spring is not strong enough?
Any help would be appreciated. I could post some pics but the spring is concealed so I do not think it will really help.

I believe your right about needing more tension.

Thanks Raymond. I guess this is what happens when you use an old garage door spring and do not cut it short enuf for fear of too MUCH tension. Still, it is easier to cut another piece off than to add a piece on.
