Hi,
I have a 1997 Microtech SOCOM with a pocket clip that has been bent so that it doesn’t make contact with the handle.
I just need to bend it back about 1/8”. I believe it is made of Titanium. Can I just bend it back cold? Any advice how to do this without messing it up?
Thanks!

If you can install the clip 180 degree rotated, you may be able to bend it easily.

I guess it is brittle, and therefore springy.
If you go beyond its elastic limit, it will break.

Ti, depending on the grade and heat treat can be surprisingly cantankerous to work.
Check out my old post. I just wanted to relax the tension on this Tasmin clip a little.
It fought me . . . . LINK > > >

I guess I’ll give it a try. Don’t know where I could even get a replacement if it breaks.

Contact microtech. They can most likely send you a new one or send it in to them for a replacement clip.

They may void the warranty if you try and remove it. I forget if they are strict or not about that.

Thanks for all the help. Got it back into shape...way easier that I expected. I did call Microtech, and at first they wanted me to send the knife in, so I just requested they send me a clip. They said they would see if they could find one, but I never heard back from them.

Cool, glad you didnt have any issues. That would really suck for something as small as a "loose" clip.
