Help - Buck Vanguard Rebuild

I could some ideas or referrals on how to remove my Buck Vanguard handle and replace it with something that isn’t so smooth (preferably antler).
Background: I wanted a Vanguard in their S30v, but the only offering is in a smooth, composite wood handle with a black powder-coated blade. Using sandpaper and a Dremel, I removed the blade coating and polished it to a near mirror finish. The last thing I need to do is modify or replace the wood handle so that it is not so slippery. I probably don’t have the right tools or skills to cut the handle and replace it.
Any thoughts? (It’s a hidden tang knife).

The Buck shop does custom work. You could have, you could still, contact them to request a quote.
Buck did make a LE Vanguard in polished 20CV with micarta handle and have also made stag-handled versions (pricey and relatively hard to find)
If you have a dremel and a cut-off wheel, you can remove the handle OR make your life easy and just cut a pattern of grooves in the wood to provide grip - you can use a dremel or just a file to do this. I recommend deciding on a pattern, drawing it on the handle, and then filing away as your first step, and if you don't like it then cut off the wood and choose replacement material or send to buck for a different handle.
