I think a medium sized knife is a 10 inch blade, so I find ka-bars and other 7 inchers kind of short for how they look.

Thus, I was looking for an overall good knife that has around 4 to 6 inches and that could be utilitarian or overall good.

On the short side, I thought of the Fallkniven WM1 just as a backup to a bigger knife. (however not classic at all)
In the middle I considered a KA-BAR Mk. 1 ; good looking, classic design and overall greatly reviewed.
On the long side I am seriously considering an Ontario P3 Quartermaster. Just saw it and I'm lovin' It.

Obviously the WM1 is in another league of its own, so I would like to ask you if you know or have experience with any of those other two (mk.1, P3) and if buying one over the other consists on maybe something more than just personal preference.

Thanks in advance.

I can barely see it.

Just personal preference. The thing was choosing between a Mk 1 or a P3.

I just recently discarded the ka-bar and the p3 doesn't seem good for what I want.

I guess Fallkniven wins for a small little knife.
