I am looking for a new folder, preferably by Benchmade or Spyderco. I would like something with a full plain edge and, a blade of 3-4 inches. My price range is between $100-150. What do you recommend ?!!

Without you being more specific I'd say: almost any BM or Spydie.

How about a Benchmade 710 Axis lock, or a Spyderco Starmate. There is also the REKAT Carnivore.

I you're looking for pure simplicity, durability, and ease of cleaning, how about the Benchmade 750 Pinnacle? They can be found for appx. $100 or so.

Or how about the Benchmade 720 Pardue axis lock? I bought one and gave it away as a gift. Awesome knife! ~ 6061 t6 black anodized aluminum handles and ATS-34 clip-point blade just over 3", I know it's either 3 1/4" or 3 1/2" long.

My absolute favorite daily carry is a Spyderco Howard Vielle.
It is a plainn blade that is a good usable size that fits the hand well and looks good enough to be dressy.

I have the BM 710, 720, and Spyderco Calypso Jr (not quite 3").

The Calypso Jr. has the most ergonomic handle, but is slick w/ micarta.

The BM 710 is the one I use camping/hiking. Very good ergonomics w/ decent anti-slip swells near the pivot. Easy to sharpen (ATS34) on the Lansky or Spyderco 204 system. (However, it takes a while to get it down to a 20 degree angle).

My fiance' took over my 720. It now rides in the car with her. Never sharpened or used much.

I would choose the 710 w/ M2 for outdoor use.
I would choose the 720 for daily carry.... It's smaller and legal in more areas. I would not choose the BT2 coating for the 720 daily carry. People get the willies when they see anything black or serrated on a knife.

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brothers keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay me vengeance upon you." I think some of the Kershaw/Ken Onion collaborations with the CPM 440V blades fall in that price range. If so, might be worth consideration.

I've never heard about anyone disappointed about purchasing a B.M.710 Axis lock.I've had one for about 4-5 months and love it.Before that I carried a Stryker-also no complaints but the Axis is a more all around design. Not so specialized like the Stryker.
