Help choosing a sheath for IWB carry

Hello all. I live in a small town in Central America and carry a lot of large spyderco folders. I am considering buying a fixed blade but need some help choosing the right kind of sheath. I haven't even chosen a knife yet, because a fixed blade doesn't work for me until I know if I can find the right kind of sheath for carrying it.

This is intended to be a smaller edc blade, 3.5-4 inch blade. I would like to carry the knife inside my waistband (in the front) like I do all my folders. I usually am in shorts here, often with no pockets, so this is important. Carry laws aren't a big deal here so being "concealed" is important only because I don't want to look like crocodile Dundee walking around! ;) So really I need something slim and comfortable with a strong slim clip. I was thinking maybe leather with a leather covered flat metal "spring clip" kind of like a money clip. I hope that makes sense. I am open to any material as long as it's a comfortable fit. I think the size and function of the clip is going to be more important than the sheath actually. I really don't know anything about sheaths so I was hoping someone on here might be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Lance

I'd suggest a kydex or Concealex sheath with a Spyderco G-Clip on it. The G-Clip can be used with a belt or without, and since it attaches with screws and posts, you can adjust the angle or side of carry. IWB beltless is one of my favorite carries. The knife in the picture has a 5" blade, but is only for illustration purposes of the beltless carry.

Kydex with a g clip is a good option. There are plenty of kydex sheath makers out there that will make a sheath for any knife. An IWB loop or hook will work well also assuming you wear a belt. I carry a number of smaller fixed blades this way in the 4 o'clock position.

Great, I had seen those since I am looking at a couple of spyderco fixed blades like the street beat and street Bowie. I wasn't sure ho the clip would work, so thanks for the info.

That is a Spyderco Street Bowie in one of my Custom sheaths. I've been using/making G-Clips for many, many years, and designed the Spyderco G-Cip for them. Spyderco did such a great job making them, it's about all I use anymore.

Thanks, David!! David Brown has been around for a long time and is one of the best!

Just got back from the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot. The Spyderco Street Bowie is a great little knife!! Outstanding design and one of my favorites.
