Hello Folks....:)

I have a Buck 110 Custom knife...need to sell it, but do not know what to ask. It is a beautiful and heavy knife. The bolster's are engraved by hand because they do not match, even though they look close. The sides are some kind of rocks(?) I believe...or could it be a hard plastic...it feels\sounds like rock. There is gold spacing between each rock. The blade is great and it snaps tight. The sheath seems to be custom made and is of a very nice & soft leather. The knife & sheath is really well done!

I am assuming I do not have say, a Yellowhorse knife by what I have seen, or do I? However, It WAS from the Southwest US. What is the value to ask for this knife as I need as much as possible to pay medical bills.

How do I attach pictures...? Or do I not have authority to do so... :(

Here is a link to it at knifeforums.com

Thanks for your help in advance! ;)

Nice looking knife. Haven't a clue who did it, but it's obviously an early 110 based on the tang stamping. The value is a tough call. Maybe putting it up for auction is your best way to determine that. As they say, anything is worth what someone out there is willing to pay for it. Maybe some of the experts around here can offer more. Good luck.

Good looking two-dot. That's 440C steel in case you do have to write up an item-description on it. As for the other materials, I'm not sure.

Maybe best to simply list it on an auction site with a reserve at which you personally feel comfortable. That way, if you don't get what you think it ought to bring, you don't have to sell it in that forum.

Hey krootsie. Glad to see you here. I know there are a lot of very knowledgeable posters here, and hopefully someone can ID this one.
Here are your pics. Good luck.

Doesn't look like Yellowhorse's or Ghostown's work but check out the link below. The green stone is probably malachite while the orange might be coral. Santa Fe Stoneworks customs might be more like yours... not sure if they do Buck 110's though. Nice looking knife!

howdy krootsie,
man i am sure each and every one of us can relate to that... i know i have been their for sure!
off hand i would say it would likely bring about 65$ on ebay and could bring up to 100$... but prices on ebay have leveled a bit of late not going up on a lot and comeing down on some. it is a fine early 110 with 440 steel. it would help a lot to know who did the custom work... it looks like native american work to me for sure... nice engraveing also...hope it does well for you.

I'm astounded on the feedback and the help...EXCELLENT. Of all the boards I am a member of (guns, archery, etc, etc..), you guys rock and are super helpful!

I also have a bunch of Buck knives that I will be selling...but I have another one in particular that is of a curious nature.

I bought it years & years ago...it is a Buck Royalty Set. It is brand new and still has the plastic covering\sealing the set. Okay...do not have pictures yet(new memory card tomorrow) but I will describe it. It is a dark wooden display case (looks like paneling) that hangs on the wall and has 3 knives. The smallest looks like a Buck 107, and the other two get larger in size...one being larger than the other. Essentially 3 knives with varying lenghts. The handles are reddish\maroon. The knife set says #206. What I was told is that this is quite hard to find in this new condition...being brand new and all. Any ideas on what I have and what it is worth?

When it is all done and said...I may post these Bucks on Ebay...but would like to sell them to someone who gives me a very honest offer for them...i'm a trusting person, and am assuming people here are the same. :)

Thanks again in advance for all the help...amazing how everyone helped. :)

Jeff

Jeff,
Your kitchen knife set was called the Empress Trio. The earliest sets were of burgundy micarta. A very few can be found with black micarta. Later, they were handled with impregnated birch. I would think a brand new in box set such as you describe should bring at least $225, maybe more if you get aggressive bidders on eBay who are determined to own it.

When I get a chance...I will post pictures(or have perhaps you do it?) to make sure...I appreciate your insight.

I picked it up in a rural gun shop in Michigan...the kind of gun shop that is an old building with wooden floors, tons of old guns with some stacked 5 deep, old knives, etc...some items coverered in dust on the shelf...when every item you look at new or used has some history to it...a dog laying on the floor sleeping, a warm woodstove going & the smell of fresh oak, fresh coffee in a perculator and a very friendly gentleman\owner in his 70's telling the greatest stories... :)

Americana at it's best. :) That place left an lasting impact as places like that are hard to come by today. I also have a SawBuck new in the box too from there...dark brown box with some sun fading...but new nonetheless new with paperwork and sheath. That will be for sale also. And a new engraved Buck 701 in a presentation box with paperwork....for sale also.

Thanks again!

Great description on that gun shop! You're very fortunate to have that hidden treasure to visit...but then you already know that. :)
