I just took delivery of a vintage Buck 119 Special.
I would appreciate an approximate date.
The knife: imprint Buck 119 U.S.A.,read tip up.
Handle, three spacers, dark maroon color.

Sheath, holster type, 119 on back, stitching around the rivets which attach the belt loop.

Sorry I can't post pics.

Thanks.

Your knife was made in 1981.
They started with three spacer in 1981 and dropped the third spacer later in this year.
Hope that helps

It has the old convex style edge.
I have heard of folks having a problem getting them sharp.
It took me around twenty minutes with diamond, ceramic and a strop to get it screaming sharp.

The handles on these older knives are a bit snaller in girth, the new ones fit my hands better.

Sure did. Actually restored it. Whoever had it before was not very good at sharpening.

Takes an excellent edge.
