Help dating Case Copperhead

Hello,

Ive had this case copperhead for quite a while. Im looking for information of how old it is.

According to this chart from the Case collector’s club website, it appears to be from the 1970s. If you can see the dots to count them, it will tell you the exact year.

There appears to be two rows of dots vertically stacked. Maybe two rows of 3 or 4. The person who had it before claimes to have had it in the early 70s and claimed to have not carried it after 1979. Yet it is very worn. Thats why im curious.

Markings indicate 1977 (3 dots).
Don't believe everything told to you by somebody trying to sell something.....

It's difficult to tell the difference between the date code dots and the pitting, but it looks like three dots to me (like Arathol said).

I don't see any Case date codes that have two vertically stacked rows of date code dots (not counting the periods between U.S.A).

In the 1970s Case never did two rows of dots on their tang stamps. Just one horizontal row of 10 dots descending in order to one dot as the 70s progressed. I see three…1977 👍

I saw that post and responded accordingly. Look at the date code chart posted above. The markings on your knife match those used for 1977.

Ill have to agree with you. Im bad at this count the dot game.

Im quite amazed this knife has such significant wear on the bone handle scales for such little wear on the bolsters.

My older ka bar 1189 has very much patina on the wood scales and much wear on the brass bolsters but much less wear on the wood than the bone of this case.
