Help decide colour for sheath...

As the title says, I can't decide what colour to go with for an upcomming sheath.
Should I try to go for a tan that matches the general colour of the handle or perhaps a darker brown to match the darker grains in the wood(yew burl).
Or maybe something all together different...?

The sheath will have details in matching yew burl and damasteel of the same pattern as the blade!

Anyway, here's the knife in question:

Any and all ideas are welcome!

No sheath by you would look wrong. If it was MY commission, I'd be asking for darker to pronounce that luscious handle via contrast. :)

+1:thumbup: Your knife /sheath combinations seem to ALWAYS please the eye Magnus.

How about a light colored sheath with a dark inlay, or even dark with a lighter inlay. I think either could work.

Thank you guys, great ideas both! I appreciate you input!

Forgot to mention that the sheath will have details in matching yew burl and damasteel!

First I would like to say that that knife is awesome! WOW!
Now to your question - I see a Chestnut colored sheath to compliment that sweet blade. Perhaps with some dark brown or black accents.

Nice materials, nice shape and beautiful art knife. I like your filework.
And color I would try lighter brown such as the handle. but it is ma opinion

If you are going to use accents on the sheath made from the same material as the blade and handle, I would go with really dark leather. I haven't noticed you having much trouble combining materials to make some fantastic looking setups so it will be interesting to see what your choice is. I know it will look great.

The detail on that is amazing. well done.
I see why your finding it hard to choose a sheath. my suggestion would be a darker brown leather. but any leather sheath would look great.

that's what I meant. Like Darth Vader

Since this knife reminds me about beautiful gypsy outfit, why not you use the darker purple, pink or green as the color of the sheath :D

Aha! Dare to be different, Magnus?

If you were making this knife for me I'd ask you to go dark to bring out the highlights in the handle. I'd also ask that you use the material you're using for the spacers (sorry, don't know what it is) to embellish the sheath in a classy way.

Materials on this one look great, Magnus

I have decided to go with a darker brown that matches the highlights of the wood.

In adition to Damasteel and yew burl, I will try to get some bronze in there as suggested by Mr Connally. :)
Great idea Rob, thanks!

Sitting back, just waiting to see what you decide - since it's always right on the mark. Be sure to show it to us when completed!

Best,

Bob

I was thinking you were probably one of the last to need advice regarding sheath design. ;)
Great looking knife by the way.
