My girlfriend's cheap 10 dollar flea market folder broke recently and for her birthday this week I'm looking to get her a quality folder to replace it.

I've narrowed it down to three knives:
Spyderco Endura
Benchmade Griptilian
Kershaw Lahar

I'm open to other suggestions, but these are sounding pretty good. If you're going to make a recommendation please include why.

How about an Endura in while FRN? They have a sprint run going right now! Perfect timing.

Spyderco Endura. Its a modern classic. It comes in multiple variations and materials. Get what she likes and and she will have it for a long time to come. Spyderco has excellent customer service if she ever has a problem with it (I doubt she will).

I prefer the flipper the Lahar offers. I'm just not too keen on holes in the blade.

If its for your GF, does she have long fingernails?

I would say the thinnest knife you can find. Most girls I know are lucky if they can use their pockets for much at all. If she is going to carry the knife in a purse then you have more options available.

The Endura is a great knife. The Delica is basicaly the same knife with a 3" instead of 3.75" blade. She may prefer the smaller Delica as many do for EDC.

They have a FFG in FG G-10 in both, but not for long since a limited run.

The Kershaw Lahar is out at the git-go, since it is a liner-lock and I don't recommed knives with such a lock to anyone.

The new Spyderco Endura is a decent knife. I'm not a fan of the "Spydie Hole" for opening in general, but it works. Not a fan of lock-backs in general, but it works.

The Benchmade Griptilian comes in so many blade configurations - which are you interested in? I prefer the Axis-lock and the Griptillian is a decent design. I prefer the Griptillian in the mini-size, not so hip on the full-size versions.

What does this woman use a knife for? Does she carry in pocket, sheath, or purse?

Eitherway, I've gifted mini-Griptillians and various Spyderco lock-backs to people and the mini-Griptillians usually get more positive feedback.

Mini-Grip.

Simple and effective. Makes for a great EDC knife, especially for people that don't need a knife for larger chores.

Griptilian all the way.She may even like the pink mini-grip,if the full size is too large.

If you don't mind, I'll suggest something completely different.

Check out the Kershaw Skyline. Super thin and lightweight, awesome flipper, and the damascus version is gorgeous.

I suggest a kershaw leek. It's thin, light weight, assisted open which is cool to see (especially from a girl), and sharp as hell out of the box although I suggest you to teach her how to use it properly and not to be a moron like me and cut your thumb open after owning it/holding it for like 8 seconds (use the back spine thingy and not the side thumb holes)!!!

Benchmade Griptilian is too big/thick and so is the Kershaw Lahar for edc for a girl. As for the Spyderco Endura, you must as well step up to a Spyderco Police 3

My wife is 5'10" - and chose her own 'carry' knife. First, over five years ago, was her Kershaw Rainbow Chive, followed last year by her CRKT #7415 Gallagher Glide Lock. I wouldn't have either - but she wanted them - they were her choices. She still carries both of them. As a teacher, she isn't supposed to have one... but they are usually employed everyday. She made up for those in her CCW choice - she got a new L.W. Seecamp .32 - and I am a revolver-type. I found it best to let her choose.

Stainz

PS You could always pick something you like... that way, when she doesn't like it...
