I watched a documentary style TV program once upon a time that was fascinating and have had no luck finding any info about it anywhere.
What I remember for sure is that it was a cross country race of several days involving 3 contestants. One was a seemingly well equipped backpacker, another a heavily equipped trekker pulling something like a bike trailer, the third was an native with a shoulder bag and hand carrying a canvas desert water bag.
Sketchy memory is that the setting was the Australian outback and they had to cross mountains. I think the aborigine won and the trailer guy was a close second. The backpack guy didn't finish.
For the life of me I can't even pin down when I watched the program aside from it was probably in the last 20 years but I sure would like to watch it again.
Anybody else here that remembers?
