help finding cheap carbon steel

I live in oklahoma and am having trouble finding dealers or eany other sorse
for steel thanks in advance for the help you guys are a great group to go to for help for beginners like me and a big insperation!!

If there's a Fastenal store near you, they sell O-1 rod in 3-ft lengths fairly inexpensively.

check your yellowpages for metal supermaker. we have one in oklahoma city that sells o1. I also buy from Jantz supply. they are in davis, oklahoma.
 
You got some mighty fine potential resources..... Jantz is a provider that is very fine people and very customer-service-oriented....they may or may not be the lowest cost but Good Folks who care about giving their customers good service.....
Terry Summers at Admiral Steel is a very good guy to deal with as well...
There are other fine folks, but you have some fine resources already....
Stacy sure gave you a list of "winners" from which to order......
 
flatground.com is good, you have to enter a buissness name to order but they are some of the cheapest i could find

Check out McMaster. I found that for thin stock, in sheets,
they can not be beaten. Not sure about your thickness reqs,
but look at page 3522 of their online catalog under
"Tough Wear-Resistant 1095 Spring Steel"
