Help finding the right sheath...

Hello all,

I need help selecting the appropriate sheath for my new ASH-1 SE. I am looking for something that will hang the knife low enough that the butt doesn't dig into my side when sitting or squatting, but not as low as the Mashed Cat dangler I have for my HHFSH. Ideally looking for something that will sit the sheath so the butt is about level with my belt, or an inch or so above. Kydex or leather is fine, but I don't do too well with long waits so preferably not an option with a 3 month turn around.

, I have my ash1 in a drop down kydex by mashed cat. The strap is Velcro so I have it all the way down and the pommel rides a hair below the belt line. My leather danglers ride too lie but this one is fine, good luck, let us know what you get.
 
You could do something like this one, its a combo of kydex and a molle back and pouch. Its my favorite setup for a belt knife.

all you have to do is line up the holes on the kydex to match the molle back. Works like a charm.

Yeah, that would work too, cricket. All the parts for the molle are easy to find?
 
yep the standard esee molle back and pouch, comes with the correct hardware to attach, and if you have just minimal hand tools you can bend your own kydex.
 
Look up Martin Swinkels...he recently made a sheath for my skinny ASH and one for my Bear Cub Grizzly made by Andrew Jordan. His work is impeccable
 
If you change your mind, I have the ASH-1 2007 SE and do the drop loops in house. I can make the drop loop any length you prefer as well.

Fantastic, that would be the way I would like to go. I like the other MC sheath I have, just want less drop, so if you can do that it would be great! When would be the best time to contact you?
 
Eric is the man, when it comes to drop loops.

Mashed cat has an adjustable height four position drop loop for $20 under options.
 
Al Welke can make you a fine sheath, if you like Kydex. He made one for my Rodent Solution, and I wear it every day. Its the best sheath I have ever owned.
