Anyone here remember the YouTube videos withe the either Norse or Teutonic fellow making his own knife handles and wooden sheath in the woods? You do? Can you help me find them?

I wonder how many will have a blade blanks available to them when they are in the bush?

I also wonder how many would take a metal file with them when they are in the bush? :D

I only wish that I had wood that was that easy to work over here, whilst I'm in the bush

I know, so many questions :D

Edited to add: Now that I think about it, those who carry knives with these sorts of tangs..

Might just want to know how to rehandle them just in case they encounter more than just softwoods, lol

Kind regards
Mick :D

That's the one! Thank you Will. I just like to see how adept that guy is with a knife, like he's been using it since birth.

Mick you are funny. :D

However, now that you point it out, it might not be a bad idea to have a small file in your kit. Y'know, when you're in the bush.

Is this what you do on rainy days off???

I should be free in an hour, lets go hiking!

Yeah it has been raining all day here, but we're going anyway

Enjoyed those! Thanks for asking about 'em and thanks for finding them.

I never really considered making the sheath cover the handle as he did. Pretty awesome idea. Personally I like those kind of tangs. Better knives have more meat on the rat tail. more than adequate afaic. Drilling or burning or a combo of the two never seemed like the best approach. I inlet mine much the same way.

I did split a cherry branch once but it was quite a chore to carve a straight, inline inlet in an asymmetrical and twisted spilt, so I started sawing and planing.

love those scabbards though gotta try soon
