hey guys so i got a new knife a few weeks ago it was definitely on the cheap side but liked its look and has a good weight. so it was fine for a few days then the bar that comes up to lock the blade in place (oh yeh its a assisted opening) so yeh the blade has trouble locking when it opens. you know the bar that comes up and locks the blade and then you push it down to close the blade well that bar appears not to be coming up far enough to lock the blade out i took a pic and circled the problem area in red. i figured take it apart and bend that bar up a lil but i figured i would post here first to see if any one can help before i screw it up even more.please if any one has any knowledge or tips let me know thanks to any one who can help

What kind of knife? Cheapo liner locks are notorious for coming with or developing issues over time.

You could bend the lock bar but if the problem is severe you may not every get good lockup. I cant even see and angle to the lockface at all so bending the lockbar may mean it just goes right past the lockface all the way to the other scale which on a liner lock you wont have any contact whatsoever. You may have some wiggle room to the parts to get earlier lockup but its a hard process to explain. Search youtube for improving the lockup of a sebenza. Its not your knife but the basic principle applies.

This is a liner lock knife and the piece you are talking about is liner lock.
You can try bending it but don't bend it too far.
Also the blade probably opens against a pin on the top of the knife, with screws through this pin from side to side. You might be able to loosen the screws and adjust this pin so the knife opens a little farther.
Or it might be junk at this point.

The blade looks tilted to the left? Maybe try tightening the pivot first and see if it locks up correctly.
