Help for a guy on sword forums

A guy posted a question in the sword forum. He's in ROTC, and he's going to be an Army officer soon. He's looking for a maker who can make him a saber, with all the detailed ecthings on the blade and a highly detailed hilt. I couldn't think of any makers doing that kind of work. Do you guys know anyone he could go to for this type of job?

He should contact one of the suppliers that sell the Military Dress swords. They do that kind of stuff. The swords are pretty much crap, but they are dress items only, anyway.

IIRC, Atlanta Cutlery does custom engraved swords. He should check with his uniform shop, too.

Unfortunately his uniform shop will only be able to get the crappy ones they provide. Not sure if he will be able to get away with wearing it in uniform if its not the one from the uniform shop. May be different for the marines.

I saw his post over there but had no idea of any help to offer. Its a valiant effort though, that would be one heck of a keepsake to pass down.

I'm not sure what happened, but the thread vanished. I think Karda or another mod moved it because we recommended a source that doesn't advertise on BF. Too bad.
