hey guys....

i need help im looking for a heavy duty worker that can still hold a edge for some fine work, im looking at the Tops Silent Hero. please let me know your thoughts my price limit is $200

Welcome to BF!

I hate to be the first to try to tackle this, but I can't recommend TOPS as the best way to spend $200.00
I have read a lot about their knives, and I owned a Tom Brown Tracker.

I would have to steer you toward a proven brand like ESEE in that price range, I think that would be a better way to go.

Have you looked at any Bark River Knives?
What about checking with the custom makers here?

Thanks guys I really like that GSO 7...$200 is my max though .

I'm a huge fan of the S30V blades I had a benchmade that was just awesome and that's what I'm looking for, tactical style worker 6.5-7" cutting edge.

Spyderco Gayle Bradley easily. Pick one up for $140 and all u have to do is wipe it down periodically. The m4 steel is fantastic.

Thanks guys, keep the suggestion coming that way I can do my homework, it really helps when you know the names to look at

With a $200 budget I'd go with ESEE. Can't beat the toughness, price, and no questions asked lifetime guarantee. My ESEE 4 takes a beating and will last forever. The Laser Strike is great too. I love my beautiful Bark River knives too but I would suggest buying one of those when you can stretch the budget a little further.

I second the GSO suggestion. I have a GSO 4.1 and its phenomenal i cary it on me or in my pack where ever I go. The 5.1 is pretty sweet and will most likely be next buy. Survives are sick knives and the cpm3v is a solid steel. Unfortunately the only ones available right now on survives website are the 3.5, Necker 2 and Factory second 4.1's.

I know that knivesshipfree has a large selection of Bark River. (I have not bought from them, but they seem to have a good rep).
