I have some knives that I would hope someone to help me find their makers. The first one is a 11mm(over 3/8 inch thick!!) thick fully tapered tang knife. The handle scales should be bocote wood with mosaic pins. It only has maker's mark "Sorrell" on the blade. Carbon steel blade.

Another knife is a beautiful tanto knife. It has slightly curve, and the handle scales should be desert ironwood burl. It has maker's mark "RFP" on the blade, and "212" on the spine. Stainless steel blade. Tapered tang.

BTW, how to upload photos? I can't find the "upload a file" button. Thank you all for the help.

I've got no specific info , but those tapered tangs take much skilled effort . Very nice !:thumbsup:

Sorry if that against any forum rules. :)
John. Thank you very much for checking. I searched online again.
It appears that this maker was on the list of the 2011, 2012 and 2014 Knives Annuals.
Is it possible to email the OKCA for more information? I will also try email Walter Sorrells.
I want to find the maker is because the bocote handle scales start to have gaps between the tang. A piece of paper can easily fit in there. Due to the mosaic pins, the knife scales still attach to the tang. I still want to get the knife fix since it may rust inside.

On the other hand, the stainless desert ironwood tanto is doing great. I don't have any issue with it.

If he displayed at OKCA, your best bet would be to contact them. Lot's of small makers have come and gone in the past 10 years.

That being said, someone else could rescale the knife, but it would cost.

Hi guys,

I just want to say that I found the maker of that blade. His name is Rick Sorrell, and he is from California.
He seems like a very nice guy. We had some great talk on the phone. I am glad he is willing to take care this blade which is one of my favorites. I just sent the blade to him. I am appreciate everyone who helped me out.
