I posted over in the Levine sub-forum, so far to no avail, so I ask you, the keepers of all things traditional- Can you help figure out how old this knife is? It is a Queen, three blade Stockman with Delrin scales that look like Winterbottom bone. The tang stamp is a long, straight tail Q with a not-so detailed crown above and USA below. It looks to be a Seventies tang stamp, but there is no year # alongside the Q. Sorry about the pics, I am not a photographer.

Thanks all

Dave...

I think you're as close as your going to get on the date ..late seventies 1977-1979...since the early 80's began the Q with the knife going thru it and going backwards 1973-1975 had the the Q with the drop tongue to a straight line and prior to that the Q had the tongue.
Unfortunately,we can't base it on the imt. winter bottom bone since that has been used for some time and the only other way to date it is based on the nail nick placement on the main blade...older pieces had the nick on the downwards slope of the clip and away from the spine.

Hi Dave, I asked the same question some time ago, about the age of my bone handled Queen Trapper, it turned out that its an earlier one that has real bone, probably not too many?...but in typical Traditional style, a very helpful blade brother posted this...so here is the favour passed on, copy this, and keep it in your knife files...it comes in handy...:D
