Hi

I disassembled my Heat to clean it; one year of pocket wear leaves some dust.

There are a few things I did not noticed before the reassembling time. Should have taken pics.

There are 2 washers, but they are not the same thickness. Wich one goes on the "lock" side?

Also, there are those "latex like" washers. Should they be placed in contact with the blade or on the other side?

I think I figured out the rest.

hinde site is 20/20. next time just use some water and a can of compressed air or an air hose followed up with a small spray of WD40. Good luck.

It's not too hard to reassemble. The left scale has the large (thicker) bronze washer and the right side has the skinny washer. I refer to left and right as if you were holding the knife with the blade foward. When I put mine back together, i just left the teflon rings out and it works just as well. The Heats are great knives. Good luck.

Stay away from the WD40, The Remington teflone spray is the best.
