They are two very different knives.

I've never owned the 710 but I know it's quite a bit larger than the Pm2. From my own personal experience, the PM2 Carries so well and is a joy to use. It would be my choice of the two.

Both knives are two of my favorites from each company. The 710 is a little more dated, but certainly a classic. Everybody loves the PM2.

I'd say decide what your intended uses for it will be and see what steels they come in. Base it off of which steel is available at time of purchase
I think they 710 might use D2 and the PM2 is probably in S30V, so in that case I'd probably take the S30V. Besides the blade length and shape
you should consider the hole opener of the PM2 VS. the thumb studs on the 710 and which lock you prefer. Axis lock has always been a nice and
easy lock to operate. The PM2's lock is a little different than you may be used to, but it is nice as well. Also the Pm2 has 4 way reversible pocket clip
in case you want tip up/down left or right. I don't think you can go tip down with the 710 if that matters to you.

Best of luck and let us know what you get.

The 710 gets you much better blade to handle ratio and pockets much better than the PM2 as the lack of Spyderhole makes it a much narrower knife overall, it is, IMO, a much better looking knife and is effortlessly smooth to open and close.

The PM2 gets you what most, including myself, would consider a better steel, gives you 4 way clip placement instead of sticking you with tip up only, is a tiny bit lighter and has a nice, crisp detent instead of the slightly squishy feel of the Axis lock.

Both are good. My preference would go like this Knifeworks M390 710>Sprint Run Paramilitary 2>Stock 710>Stock Paramilitary 2. You are, however, not gonna go far wrong either way. Pick the one you like the look of the best ;)

A PM2 is a must have in any collection. You'll end up with one sooner or later so just get it over with and buy it.

Can't go wrong with either.
I do prefer the Para 2 over the 710 though.
Fits my hand like a glove and I love the lock!

I have both. The Para2 sees way more pocket time. The thumb studs on the 710 are too close to the scales making it awkward to deploy the blade. Also the G10 scales on the 710 don't have enough texture. The PM2 rides better in the pocket. The ffg on the PM2 makes it a better slicer. It's a toss up in the locks. Both the compression lock & the axis lock are fun to play with.

Definitely the 710.

I own many versions of both and I feel that the 710 is a better knife overall. I love everything about it. Its my favorite Benchmade.

I would get the 710. Both are great knives but the 710 is longer and eats up less pocket space without the Spyder hole. There is no bad decision here. Purely preference. I also prefer the axis lock. Good luck.

Actually I love the placement of the 710 thumbstuds. It opens perfectly and super easily in Umnumzaan-fashion.

Indeed. Just run the heal of your thumb straight up along the scale until it "collides" with the thumbstud and keep pushing in that direction and the thumbstud magically flies around to open lockup.

I'd go with the Para2. It's such a joy to carry and use.

To be fair though I have not handled a 710.

Nobody can make your decision for you, especially those who don't own one or the other. As you can see, there are proponents of both, who each have their individual likes and dislikes about the knives in question.
I have two 710's (D2 and M390) and two Para 2's (M390 and CTS-204P). I carry a 710 regularly and rarely carry the Para 2's, if that helps with your choice...
