I have a serious problem. I cant stop trading knives and gear. I have a about 15 trades in the last month. There are boxes and paperwork everywhere! Is anyone else having this problem. Seems like no blade is safe no matter how much i love it. I just traded my Spyderco military today and i thought id have that knife for the rest of my days. I almost feel like im gonna regret trading it. I ask myself "did i trade it just to trade?" or is it because i want to handle every knife possible. There is 3 or 4 i will never trade, but i got them in trades. I know i save money trading instead of buying but ive spent well over $100 this month on shipping.

Something i have noticed. I have made friends through trades and i love that.
Its great talking to people all week untill the items arrive and sometimes after. there are some great people here in bladeforums and for that i will probably trade untill i cant trade no more!:D

anyone else feeling the same?

you havee problems in trade? I've put over $1000 knives alone this month!! :D Yes, I am knife-a-holic... Aslong you're happy and you can afford, go for it! I've made new contacts too. Mostly thanks to my certain puukko... I'll tell that story in traditional's after it has safely concluded its journey to the States... :D

Nothing wrong with trading. I have traded more than i can remember. Some of them i regret, but most of them can be replaced. Its a good way to try out other blades without spending alot of money to get them.

I have made several trades in the last 2 months, around 8-9 I think. I too had boxes all over, the Waste Management truck rolled up Monday and took it all away. I've met some cool people too via the trades and other deals I've made. That is awesome, meeting and talking with cool people that share this hobby. :D

I also do a lot of trading but have slowed down recently do to how much I was spending on shipping.
Plus I got "stuck" on the Orange Military and haven't felt the need to try out any other other knives since receiving it.

So I guess that's a good thing.
But it's only a matter of time until the thrill of trying out new knives for just the shipping cost returns.

Yes there are soooo many great people on this forum that I have had the pleasure dealing with. A big  to you all.

I have done a Ton of trading with others ,but at shows, or fairs, ect. I've never traded online yet, but, I have a ton of stuff to swap with, I will put a list in soon, folders, combat, camp, carry, swords, burlwoods, equipment for making, bunchs of stuff. Swapin soon. Enjoy. edgy.

Absolutely nothing wrong with trading. I do it all the time as well. My collection of knives is small and I have handled very many through trading -I would not have been able to buy all of them. It keeps things lively.

Start smoking crack, you'll notice you wont have anything left in a few years.. Problem solved..

Nothing wrong with trading, but I can't stop myself from thinking that at some point if I just save the money spent on shipping trades, I could own more knives.

Yep... having knives, not so exciting. GETTING a new knife? That's where it's at!

I've traded 6, bought 4 and sold 4 over the last few weeks. 2 of those were militarys which I really like, but just can't use as an EDC due to freakout factor and legal paranoia where I live. Once I leave IL. I will get another.
