Help, I paid twice

This morning I decided to upgrade my membership. I wanted to support the forum. Visit new and exciting places on the forum. And sell some of my knives since I’m unemployed and need cash.

I the first time I tried. I got a screen that the billing address did not match the billing address registered to the card. Ok so I go and retype the address for the order form. And click submit again. Then I get a msg that the transaction could not be processed at this time. I figured that I had made another typo and the system and kicked me out for multiple failed attempts.

So about a half hour later I try again and everything works perfectly. It brings me to a subscription screen with today’s date and informs me that my subscription will run for a year. I change my user group and everything works just fine.

Since I’m unemployed and now homeless I of course keep a close eye on how much money is in my account. So I logged on to my statement and see that my card got billed twice. This is what my statement says.

04/28/2009 06:59:50 471705 ONE STOP KNIFE SHOP $ 50.00
04/28/2009 06:30:49 471705 ONE STOP KNIFE SHOP $ 50.00

So is there anything I can do? I wasn’t counting on spending the extra $50 and this only leaves about $11 to get through the rest of the week.

Ok I just checked my email I got an order conformation from the second try (the one that went through just fine) but nothing from the first attempt that I got billed for.

One of those is an authorization hold from the AVS error you got. We don't have that money. Your bank has put a hold on the funds, they'll release in 1-2 days from now when they see we don't collect.

Thanks, I was starting to freak out little.:o

It's never too late to panic, there's no rush. So always put it off till the last minute. :p

So let me get this straight. You had $111.00 to your name, and you decided to spend $50.00 of that to join a knife forum?

You are a sick sick man, I like that. :D

$130. I also paid for my breakfast (pepper jack omelet) and bought a pack of smokes.

That's the money you could be saving by switching to Geico.

Well until that money is available again I guess I’ll consider myself a “super platinum member”
