Well, not really broke, but it aint right no mo. I took it apart to use one of the scales (FRN side) as a template as I'm making another scale. After I put it back together, the blade now leans so far toward the FRN-side liner that it rubs. It always leaned more that way anyways (was never centered), but now it rubs a bit. Also, there's a lot of blade play now, even when locked open. I've tried tightening the various screws in various sequences, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone have any suggestions on how I should put it back together to remove the blade play and keep it from rubbing the liner? I don't need it centered, I just don't want it to rub or move around.

Thanks!

Did you leave a washer out ?

Or put two on one side ?

You may have to take it apart and try again........it's usually something simple like a pivot not tight enough or something.

i have the same problem w/ my spydie D4. took it apart to do through cleanin ( which it was quite dirty) and put it back together. has noticably more blade play, and will open w/ a wrist flick, something it did not do before. proceded to take it apart and put it back together trying to fix for about 2 hrs. no change. if i tighten the piviot so that it wont flick open then its too tight and doesnt 'snap' shut, oh well, still cuts. :)

OK, foung the problem. The pivot has a flat notch that needs to be at the top. I had is slightly off and actually crushed the round part a bit by forcing it into place without the flat notch. Now with the flat notch at the top, it's perfect! The blade is actually more centered than it was before I took it apart. Glad it's working again. Hoping to get my new scale completed soon. Hope I don't have problems with all the glass fiber dust getting on my hands (I wear a mask).
