I own a bunch of knives but not many old Buck knives. Came across this (and a bunch of other old Bucks) in a neighbor's collection. I've sorted through other 301's but they all have 3 blades.

Can't seem to find much information about the single blade knife of the same model designation.

Any insight/info. most appreciated.

It looks like someone disassembled a 301, and made a 302 out of a 301.
Tapped out the pivot pins, ground off the spring rocker pin on one side, removed some of the springs/blades etc
And put it back together with just the main blade.

Thanks Chris--makes sense. Looks like it's been tweaked for sure. That's why I like being able to come to forums like this. Knowledgeable members make (generally) reasonable observations and comments.
Cheers.

Absolutely 100% an old Camillus contract 301 that's been re-worked into a single blade jack.
