Saw a Benchmads Axis lock knife in a knife store today--had a green (aluminum?) handle, and an interesting blade that looked like a cross between a tanot and a clip point--very upswept point. It had a makers name on the blade, but it has slipped my mind--I think it started with an "O". Any thoughts on what this model is?? Didn't see it listed on 1SKS or MJ&S web sites.

Thanks,

Guy

Benchmade 940, Warren Osborne design. The latest and greatest in Axis locks, made the cover of KI last month. Very light and sleek, I think they are calling it a "reverse tanto' blade. Mine came sharper out of the box than any BM I have had so far.

Best price I have seen so far is posted here, though I paid a bit more and am happy with the purchase.

Got mine about two weeks ago and......
It has cut cardboard, opened boxes, cut back bushes, cut fishing line, cut paper, cut cloth, cleaned and filleted several catfish and bass, including cutting through the backbone of catfish several times. And much more. No complaints yet. The only thing I had to do was thin out the edge a little and it cuts great. I wish the omega springs were a little stronger though as mine seem to be a little flimsy. Later, Jeff

I agree with Jeff on the omega springs. I have to be careful when closing the knife. If you don't watch out, the blade drops on your fingers.

I was wondering if the people who own them, carry them? I live in a state with a 3.5" max blade length and was a little worried that the blade could fall above that, depending on where it was measured. I try not to have run ins with the law but it still worries me a little. Any thoughts?
