Trying to piece together my memory of an old cold steel skinner I sharpened several years ago. Would have likely been discontinued before 2010, maybe even earlier. Anybody know what model I’m thinking? I’ve had a nightmare of a time trying to track it down on google. It had no ‘handle’ was just cut out steel, with two finger holes and a third finger groove that was exposed at the bottom, but my memory gets pretty foggy after that. I vaguely believe it had a gut hook but I may be mistaken on that point. Anybody know the model or better yet, have a picture of the model I’m thinking of? If I can figure out how to upload a picture I will post my rough scribble of my memory picture.

The only CS knives I can think of that had/have finger holes are the Bird & Trout (one hole), Bird & Game (one hole), Double Agent (2 holes), Steel Tiger karambit (one hole), Battle Ring (one hole), and Shanghai Shadow (one hole). But all of those, other than the Bird & Trout, had some sort of handle material/scales. And I believe the only one to have a gut hook is the Master Hunter Plus, but it has a regular handle. Going way back (early 80's) there was the Urban Shiv (double edge) and Urban Hunter (single edge), which were bare steel with holes, but they weren't big enough for fingers.

And, if anyone can tell me the model, can they also tell me when it was discontinued? I’m considering making a small batch of my own knives (like 10 or so) out of S30V that I will make by hand, but would like to make somewhat similar to their design, because it just works so very well, weighs almost nothing, and is compact yet extremely useful. Pretty cool, but I don't believe that was ever made by Cold Steel. Could be wrong, but have never seen that before, and I have almost all of the old catalogs going back to mid 80's.

Ah that must be why I had a hell of a time finding it searching under ‘cold steel finger gut hook’ haha thanks! I was almost positive it was CS, but now that I find it as a CRKT, it appears you are correct!!! Looks like it’s CRKT model 2250! Thanks! Wow, those things were cheap back when they were available!!!
