Help ID and Date Old Boker Please

Blade stamp of the boker tree looks like 1924-1935 time frame. But i might be wrong.
No clue about the model. There is no modelnr stamped on the blade is it?

Greets Maarten

That is a model 2020, but I don't know what year it was made.
We actually still make and sell those to this day.
Thanks, Terry

thundermoon is the handle bone or Delrin (a synthethic)?

If it's a 2020 probably not 24-35 timeframe but younger.

Thanks Terry.....does the tang stamp, tree, position of tree, etc. help date it at all?

Thanks Maarten....to be honest I can't tell, if it's synthetic it's a really good job? Mr. Levine mentioned that the back side handle looks like some of the dye leeched out likely from lying in the field which sounds very logical. Would bone or synthetic be most likely to do that? Thanks again!

The problem is there are different tree shapes over the years . Some look quit simular so tricky determing the age period; The stem the roots and branches are shaped different in periods . Blade markings also contribute but i'm not an expert. I have seen 60/70's 2020 on the bay with simular handle material but different blade markings . Might be your one is a bit older.

Sunlight exposure for a long time on bone and handle materials can cause discolouration next to alkali's /chemicals in the ground which may have caused your handle discoloured.

Thank you, some great information and based on the attachment you provided the "tree" sure looks like the 1924-1935 version.....with help from folks like you I feel sure we will be able to narrow down a time frame, it's a nice old knife, very solid! Thanks again for your help.

Might be Terry could find out when they started producing 2020's??

http://jwissandsons.com/catalogs/B72-73.pdf

page 10 ; 2020: clip and skinning blades-improved stag type handles (which most likely is delrin). Size closed 5 1/4
inches.
It shows up in this 75/76 catalog too. Most likely early sixties to end seventies i think.

I think mr levine is right it is stag/bone handle but to be sure you might try this test ;

In the last linked catalog it stated "improved stag type handles" . I wonder if this means synthetic ?

You could try this;

http://home.planet.nl/~kockpit/collectors.htm

Bone or Stag will give a burned hair/nail smell. Delrin our Bakelite will give a chemical smell. Delrin was developed by Dupont i think end 50's and started producing early 60's.

The colour on the faded scale provided by you in the levine's thread looks different as with natural stag our bone imho . The reflection of light shown in your pictures looks more like less diffused and harsher so i would opt for synthetic handle material.
