Help ID Axe Head - 4 3/4 Double Bit

I’m not sure who the maker is. I’m sure it was one of the big companies(Kelly Works, Collins, Plumb, etc.) that made it for a hardware store with a paper label possibly. I will say it looks like a very good quality axe! The edge seems to have no abuse at all and there is a lot of hard steel left in it!! Very nice axe!!

This head is marked (double stamped actually) 4 3/4 on one side and just a "B" (or maybe an "8") on the other side. Nice leather sheath - "Professional Action Leathercraft" (pics attached)
Thank you!

That's...
That's,
That's one substantial boy right there.

If that was mine it would be known as either the big one or large carlton

Very nice axe! I've been told by someone on the site that the figure 8 could be a quality control stamp for Kelly. I have as yet to see an example of this but i remember whoever it was that said that is trustworthy. I asked because of this axe.

Same stamp unless I'm mistaken. There are no other markings on this axe. I hope someone knows!

That’s interesting. So “4 2” would mean 4.5 pounds. Then someone weighed it and it was a quarter pound heavier so they restamped it. Very cool piece.
