I have two Buck 110's. One is a 1971 vintage that I purchased at the naval base at Subic Bay PI. I installed a one hand flick it opener in 1971 which is still on it.
I continue to use it over the years; bolsters are nicked up when it was used as a hammer, but otherwise tight and in great condition.

The other was a gift with Stag scales and smooth profile bolsters. The stag model is marked Buck .110. u.s.a. Can anyone give me an idea of the manufacture date of the stag and approx value of both of these knives? They are both carried and used from time to time and have been sharpened.

Thanks

Welcome to the Buck forum!

A dot on either side of the 110 means it was made between 1974 and 1980

Thanks for the reply. I did not think that the stag handled one was that old.

Thanks again

Value is relative. Check the Completed auctions on eBay; at least a dozen or more, to get an idea...then take that with a grain of salt...

value ... hummm
IMHO:
i collect buck and try to do so on the cheep- like a catfish i am a bottom feeder looking to scarf up what others miss on the bay listings..
some times i score ...
i would offer on your discripton alone about 50 to 60 bucks,,,yes pun intended ,,
so i would estmate that it would bring aroung 90 to 120 ..
for insurence reasons i would list it at 150 value ,,,
now for the disclamer:
that is if it was that the scales were put on at the buck factory...
and for that you would have to send a pict of it or the knife to Buck for their opion or statement that it is a factory made knife with factory or buck custom shop instaled stag scales
seems that a lot of people wont pay well for non factory mods..

Thanks for the info. Both knives hold sentimetal value for me. I would like think that the stag scales are factory and would research the issue with Buck as you suggested if the knife wasn't a gift.

Thank you for giving me a ball park value as this is exactly what I was looking for. I like having the old Buck 110's around and will continue to use and enjoy them.

As you can tell I am new to the forum and my experiance has been great. I have a few knives that I have aquired over the years. Spyderco, Roselli, Case, etc. Not a real collector but enjoy having them.

Again thanks for your expertise.
