I know this knife is at least 35+ years old. Grandpa passed when I was 11 and I'm 43 now. There are no other stampings on the blade. The guard is a brass of some sort (despite color in pic, it has green corrosion) and the scales are pinned.

I'd love to know what year or what model this is. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Did you say something similar, including sheath font, a few minutes ago on another site?
But yeah, seems like it's somewhere in that 70s time range

I think if you can get your hands on a copy of The American Premium Guide to Knives and Razors, 7th ED. The answer might be in there.

I was looking in my copy for an easy answer, but the variations of Case fixed blade stag handled knives is staggering.

Start on page 338 thru about 344 for coverage of stag handles.

Thanks. I came across three 1932-1940, and one 1940-1965, versions of this and they were referred to as "Scout". Some even had SCOUT stamped on the opposite side.

You mean theres other knife websites?
No wasnt me.
Well, it wasn't specifically a knife website, but there's a regularly recurring knife thread and someone had made a similar comment. I'll try and get some good close-ups of the stag for you tonight, but not sure how well the phone will do. I may have to get out the good camera gear for that, so it might be a day or two.
