I generally don't commit to an axe without knowing what I'm getting, but here I am. An interesting Jersey/Kentucky. Weighs 3.64 lbs, doesn't look like it's been use on the edge side, some slight poll mushrooming. Here is what interests me:
Anyone recognize the "8" stamp on the poll? Sorry for the crappy pics.
Thanks!
- At near 4 pounds, it is really thin 3-4" up the blade. When looking from the eye view, you can see that there is no curves- it's like a Maine wedge.
- The only mark is the number 8 stamped on the poll. Not sure I've seen that before.
- It comes from northern New England. It was packaged by someone selling lightly used axes, including a couple of Rixfords- it was keeping company with some quality axes.
Anyone recognize the "8" stamp on the poll? Sorry for the crappy pics.
Thanks!
