Well I traded for this knife so its mine now. It might be the most expensive knife I currently own (a shotgun was involved in the trade) but Im not sure what year the knife is. Its a two line, but the model 124 is stamped on the top of the guard. Thanks for the help and here are the pics.

Hi Psp,

Yes Joe H. is still at Buck, he is part of the Buck family & part of the BF Buck family here on the forum (he is one of our Buck forum MODs). Send him an email and ask him if you can send your new 124 in for a spa treatment, about $7 and covers return shipping. The knife will come back in like new condition & if you ask, Joe will send a letter back with your knife. By the sound of his letter to Klink in the auction, I bet he would love to see your knife! Nice score.

If you need a third, here it is. Great find. After a spa, you wouldn't know it from a new one.

Great trade, if the shotgun wasn't a brand new Benelli...I wonder if your knife will be the 4th known to exist

IF its really that rare (probably not Im never that lucky) is it still a good idea to send it back to the factory? Also the sheath has been sliced open by the blade so its not very good. It is the flap type.

Psyop, like everyone else said, Great trade and find... Now I have to look for one like yours... ITE ...

Correspond with Joe Houser before sending your knife to the the factory. He'll let you know exactly how to address the package, and that way he can be expecting it's delivery. Really, your knife is quite rare. Replacement sheaths can be found on ebay or through members of the Buck Collectors Club, which I would highly recommend joining. The benefits are endless.

The knife is currently in used condition. Therefore, sending it in for a factory clean up (spa treatment) will help improve its value IMHO.

Thanks for all the advice, I will get a hold of Joe and see about sending the knife to him.

Really interesting and good move trading for it Psyop. Thanks for that link jb. Wonder if the previous owner has any knowledge of its history? Would enjoy hearing what you find out about it. Thanks for showing it!
