I got this to refurb. looks like a great candidate. EDIT: I thought of a new google search term right after I posted this and hit on Hultafors. (see similar in photos #2) I also found the logo and company info on Ross' Wood trekker blog.

Anyone with any additional tidbits on the axe feel free to chime in

Looks like you have yourself a great axe there. It was made by Hults Bruk, which is now owned by Hultafors. You will see the axes referred to both as Hults Bruk and Hultafors axes because the new ones have both marks. From the picture, I would say it is a 900 gram Agdor head. It is clearly different from their classic line, which you see in the second picture. It is a great head, and is currently offered by Hultafors with a 20 and 26 inch handles. Great find!

For some reason I can't read my private messages, so I'll answer the last one here: I am not sure about the age. The only thing I can think of is that on the side of the head that is shown in the picture, if the axe is made after 1989, there will be an etching (not a stamp) with the name "Hultafors". On the ones from before 1989 you would not see that. If you manage to clean up the head without removing any of the finish, it might be visible.
