I saw this knife on sale and I'm thinking of buying it , but I can't find any information regarding price or quality anywhere on the Web.

Does anyway own this or know anything about this model? I'm kind of attracted to the pattern..

Blade 3 1/4 " Stainless Steel ( no designation)
Overall 7 5/8
Handle 4 3/8

Price $70.00

Thanks ....

The steel is most likely 440C, Boler's German stuff tends to be pretty good, handles look like Ram's Horn to me????

The handles look more like sheephorn-jigged bone to me TLC. Too regular, and a whitish base color, if you know what I mean. If it's 440C it should perform well!

Thanks for the help...

I really wanted a Queen Mountain Man in Stag Bone , but I've heard so many negative things (about blade play).. so I've been looking at similar patterns by other makers.

I know Queen Makes S&M too, how's their Mountain Man?

I have two mountain man knives, one is a Schatt & Morgan File & Wire Tested Worm Groove and a Queen Collectors Stag. I love both of them and have not seen or experienced any kind of blade play...

Check out this link for a nice Mountain Man knife review...

Yes , I've read that review. I think most of the problematic knives have been Queen Bone Stag Mountain Man models.
The design is so appealing that I might just take a chance....
Thanks for your help.

Hi JPD1998. If you are still looking for this knife here is one on ebay. no 230047779388. s-k

That particular dealer had two listed ( and two more listed in his ebay store). I won the auction for the drop point. I'll post my impressions after I receive it and let everyone know if it was worth the search.

I still like the Queen / S&M MM pattern too...

@sunburst
That S&M handle is incredible!!! LOVE it!;) :D :D

Thank you Wolfgang, I like that one also...:) IMO the S&M Mountain Man File & Wire Tested seems to be the best looking out of the whole series. I just finished collecting all the current pieces (16 I think) in that particular series and enjoy the Mountain Man the best.

That worm groove bone is nice on the eyes...

Just a note about Boker, they do use a lot of 440C but when they do it is always marked so on the blade, usually under the model number. Stainless and no mark, it's 420. They have some models that come both ways and the blade mark is the only way to tell. Their carbon steel knives are 1095.

Good morning sunburst and others. I love those moutain man knives and especially the F & W. Something else to put on my maybe one day list. Thanks for showing them. JPD looking forward to your review of the Boker. Let us know once you get it. s-k

Well, I finally got the knife yesterday. The final cost with shipping was about $56.00 so I saved a little money too.

The pictures are pretty accurate as far as representing the look and feel of the knife. The handle is bone and the ridges are cut into it. The bone has a gloss to it that doesn't show up in the picture.

When opened the knife has a slight curved shape to it, as opposed to being straight. It's a perfect shape and complements the drop point blade. The knife closed is very thin for a lock-back and would probably disappear in a pocket. It would make an excellent hunting knife.

The blade is marked "Stainless" nothing else, so I guess that means 420?

The fit and finish is very good, I wouldn't say excellent because there's some uneven finishing around the bolster area, not too bad, but I noticed it. Also a lot of dirt and gunk was left inside the frame especially near the locking mechanism. IMO the Case Ruger Stockman I bought recently is much nicer in terms of overall fit/finish and presentation.

Overall I like the knife, I don't want to be too critical because I only handled the knife for about half an hour last night. Generally I like to carry and use a knife before commenting, but this is just a first impression.
