Hello

I bought this knife in an antique store and I cannot find any information on it anywhere.

The knife is a US Camillus M3, it is in absolute ment condition. It has a blued blade with the following in gold letters:

United States Army
"We Will Defend"
1941-1991

The guard is gold plated as is the butt (top). At the very top is a stamp of an ordinance symbol, (looks like a flaming cannon ball or a round bomb).

The scabbard is in new condition. The knife was very well cared for.

If anyone can help me please email me at james.spencer@spanlett.com

Thanks

This knife is an M3 commemorative trench knife that was first offered in 1990. The gold etching "United States Army", "We Will Defend" and "1941-1991" was done by Baron Technology of Trumbull, CT. The guard and butt cap were gold plated. 2,700 were produced and were offered either individually or in a set with three other WWII era commemorative knives.

Thanks for sheding light on the mystery. It is a beautiful knife and it is in such great condition.

Tom,
Did Camillus make the same amount, 2700, of the other three knives?

All these years later I have purchased these blades in fairly poor condition!
I will wait for my knives to arrive and will post pics
