I found this older knife in my basement. It has Needham Hillstreet marked on the sheeps foot blade. It also has a strange can opener and marlin spike. The handles are diamond checkered plastic. I have never heard of this. I also found my old Buck 315 usa knife. It has one sheepsfoot blade and a marlin spike. It has plastic handles with an emblem which contains a hammer, knife and nail on it. Are these knifes collectable and do you have any idea of value? The condition of the Needham is used and a little rusted. The Buck is tarnished and a small amount of rust on the inside of the spring bar. It has had very little use. Thanks Lou

Hi,

There are two Needham brands that could have made that knife. Needham, Veall, & Tyzack(1838 to present), and Needham Bros.(11860 to 1900). Judging from your description, I would guess the former made the knife. It sound like a standard British Military Sailor's knife, many have been imported in the past few years.

The Buck was standard production for a number of years, you might want to check with the guys in the Buck forum to see if they can date the knife to a specific era. I know they started to offer tradition style pocket knives starting in 1966, I just don't know when production of that model started. It was made under contract by Camillus.

For more info also check in Bernard Levine's forum.

Their value is probably more as user's, then collectibles.

HTH:D:).
