Help ID this knife

Please help me ID this Knife, Starting from the HANDLE down, Brass knob 2 red backalite rings, 1 brass ring, 1 thick black backalite ring, 1 brass ring, 20 + black backalite rings, 1 brass ring, 1 thick black backalite ring, 1 brass ring, 2 red backalite rings, brass hand stopper (dont know the name). The BLADE
edged on both sides with a center ridge to a point on the one side of the blade is an EYE taylor under that is witness sheffield and under that is england. I got this knife form and estate sale any help would be great.
I.E - Name of knife, Commando or fighting knife, who US or English, WW II, before or after. and estimated worth if any.

Taylor's Eye Witness(1838- ) of Sheffield was a brand of Needham, Veall, and Tyzack(who've been sold to another company, who continues to use the trademark). The knife sounds like a post WWII dagger.

Check Ebay for a current price. If it's in excellent shape, it's probably in the $50 range.


The handle might not be Bakelite or such, but actually a fiber/brass/leather disk combo. These were pretty popular on these type of knives. Post a picture if you can.
