Is it a wood or carbon fiber handle?
Maybe a model name so I can keep my eye out on EBAY??
Ballpark value maybe???

It looks like a Model #16 "Diver" with sawteeth and a double hilt. Check the Randall catalog
(also there's a similar knife on ebay.)

WOW!!!
A pancake sheath!!
Woot!!!
Thanks for the info fellas
My buddy is very happy
He got it as a gift for being the best man at his friend's wedding.....

I'm pretty sure it is called a Model 16-7 Special Fighter
Maybe that is what the "S" is on the marking???

No, it's not a Special Fighter.
Model #16-7" SP#1 "Special #1 Fighter" has a clip point. Sawteeth are not available on it. Model #16 "Diver's Knife" does offer sawteeth as an option, and it has a spear point as shown in your picture above.
(The "S" stands for "stainless steel" rather than "Special Fighter".)

I believe cut_n_run is correct. It looks very much like the first Randall I bought about 15 years ago except mine had a forward curved nickel silver hilt and the black micarta handle was "border patrol" shaped. Well, and it had the standard sheath. ...but the sawteeth, spear point, and 7" stainless (S)blade length identify it as a Model #16 Diver's Knife. Actually, I don't think the SP1 existed in the early "80's as a non-catalog knife – but I could be wrong.

Hmmmm....
Your right about about the clip point
This does have a diver knife blade shape to it

Do Divers usually have the "double" guard?
(extends on BOTH sides)?

How can you tell if the knife has "canvas" Micarta handle??

Trent Rock, the double hilt is an "option". Have you requested a catalog from the Randall shop? Google their website and request one – they are free.

I have "other than Randall" knives with canvas micarta. I don't think Randall uses canvas, I think their black micarta is "linen". The linen is smoother than the canvas micarta, but rougher than "paper" micarta. The canvas micarta is quite rough and toothy!

Thanks for the info
I will request a catalog
I never really paid much attention to Randall's until now
I didn't know the history of the WWII/ "Knife Guy in Florida" story
That is awesome!!!

Is a brass guard thee same as a hilt??

Yes...the guard is the part that "guards" your hand.
In sword nomenclature, the whole non-blade portion, consisting of the guard, handle or grip, and pommel, is considered to be the hilt.
Though some people refer to knives in the same way, most (including the Randall catalog) consider the hilt to be just the guard.
(See knife nomenclature at: http://www.knives.com/nomenclature.html)
