Hello,
This is my first post on this BF section. So a friend of mine gave me a knife to sharpen. He said he wants to give this knife to his son! He didn't know much about it just said he had it for awhile, and got it from his dad. Any information on this knife as in blade material, handle material, maker, where and when it was made, maybe value would be appreciated. Thank you

Knife made by Imperial knife co. in Providence RI as you can see on the tang stamp sometime between 1956-88 . Blade are carbon steel, handles are probably celluloid. Value=cheap :)

Just so you know, you need to be a Gold or higher member to ask value questions. Since it doesn't appear to be anything special, I'll leave this be. No more discussion of value though.

Obviously it's an imperial , it looks a little bit more recent to Me ( maybe 70's+ )
So the handles are probably some sort of plastic ( celluloid probe would've already gassed out )
Not allowed to give you a value.

I can tell you that their worth their weight in gold as far as the use goes . ( but that's it )

Thanks for the assistance! I didn't realize asking a value of a knife was so frowned upon! I am not really concerned about the value being that it isn't mine. I just told him I would try to get as much info as possible. Thanks again!
