My buddy has a bali that we are trying to figure out what it is! It is a Benchmade, butterfly logo on one side, Benchmade USA on the other side. It has stainless handled with the large ovel holes, not the big circle with the smaller circles on it. The blade looks like a drop point, no swedge. It is full hollow ground to the spine. The pins are exposed. There is no latch gate. Has a 4" blade.

I tried to describe it the best I can without a pic. I would like to know what model I have here, and approximate values if anyone knows. Thanks

It is a BM 139, as to it's value...what is the condition?

BTW, some specs:

BM 139
Utility Blade
Diecast Zamak nickel plated handles (means "crap" in English)
Blade is 4.0"
0.175" thick
OAL is 9.25"
Weighs about 5.3 oz

Hmmm.... it feels like the heavier stainless, but I don't know crap about these older knives. As to condition, the knife is in really great shape. It does have some slight latch marks and you can tell it has been handled just a little. The blade shows no use and has never been sharpend. Tang pin is perfectly ceneterd. This is a really nice bali-song. If I wasn't trying to sell stuff to buy a gun, I would buy this from him myself. There is a small ammount of wobble in the handles when unlatched, but that has to be expected in these older models that have seen a little manipulation. there is no play when the latch is locked. I hope that helps in price estiamte.

I'd bet you could sell this for more or less around $100.00
They are better than all of the Chinese ones, and some of the Japanese ones from that time. I've seen them go for $60 on up to $135.00 depending on condition. Do you have a box? is there a sheath?
All of this adds to collector value and price.

Hope this helps.

This is a Pacific Cutlery knife but I think it is somewhat close to the knife you describe. These knives didn't come with a sheath........
