Hey All,

In the movie predator does anyone know what knife of machete Billy uses to face the alien while standing on the tree over the river?

Thanks
CG

I seem to recall that all of the knives in Predator were custom made by a Texas knifemaker named Jack Crane. He was, at the time, close to Hollywood people and got the deal through friends. his knives were well made and very "visually" effective. I do not think that he is currently making knives, Haven't heard about him in years (I assume he's still alive). i do remember that he had some customer/delivery/reliability issues the last I heard. Yeap, Bob is right. Jack Crain out of Texas made them. He still produces knives, but has a few problems(search our Good, Bad, Ugly forum to see what I mean).

Frost Cutlery actually made a pretty good licensed replica after the movie of that machete also.

Yeah, the originals are Crain's and you can still get them, I believe. I check his website periodically and they're listed, cost around 1,200 I think.

You can find a really nice copy of this knife/machete on ebay for about $150 if you are really interested. This will not be a high quality custom american made version but a mass produced copy. Check it out and do a search for "knife, indian" and you should be able to find it.
