Hello all and thanks in advance!
I’m pretty ignorant when it comes to Case knives, I need help identifying and aging this one. A friend of mine from a local knife shop gifted it to me some years ago.
I did some searchin online and I can’t seem to find this tang stamp. It looks similar to the 2000-2010 era? But seems to be missing a x and the dots. Also what are the numbers on the bolsters? (041)
I tried to do as much research as I could without posting, but I’m stumped.
Thanks!

That Case logo plus the pattern of Xs dates your knife to 2000-2009. For that stamp one dot is removed per year, then one X. I believe that makes this a 2006 knife.

It's not in its original box, as the knife is a Trapper, stamped stainless, and is from 2006, but the box says it's a CV steel Copperlock from 2002.

The 041 on the bolsters might have been added by a previous owner, or perhaps it was serialized for some reason; not sure on that one.

Looks like a 2006 to me. The engraved number is some sort of serial number... is this a "club knife" ?

The box and the knife don't go together.
The box says it's a Copperlock but the knife is a Large Trapper.
The blade is True Sharp Stainless Steel and that's their tree ring acrylic handle material... or Krynite.

Thanks for the replies so far! The box and knife not matching makes since now cause I tried searching some of the numbers on the box and nothing made sense.

the Case number system makes this a "3" smooth yellow synthetic "2" means 2 blades and "54" is the pattern number for a trapper... so it's a Case 3254 knife... this one with SS (stainless steel) blades.
