New here and reaching out to help identify an old wooden handle fixed blade 1030 series knife.
I believe it to be an original model, before the basic production models were sold.
Am I correct?

Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

Dont know how to post a photo of it.
Looks like a 1035 with a wooden handle.

Sounds correct. Kershaw sent a Gerber fixed blade to Hattori as a basis for the 1035. Hattori's first iteration had wood handles.

Without talking about value (because free-to-plays like me aren't allowed to), it sounds like you have something pretty special, there.

Thank you. Im hoping that's the case. I'd like to have it valuated soon, just don't know where to take it

Maybe something in here will answer your question- https://www.hattoricollector.com/2015/09/24/the-kershaws

That is the website of member Ken Hash, who I, and many others consider to be a top authority on Japanese, and Japanese-made knives. If I had a question about a Japanese knife, including Hattori-made knives, I'd want to hear from Mr. Hash. Of course you might need to post a picture first.
