Hey guys. I found this KA BAR trapper in my dad's workshop in the garage a year or two ago. It was rusty, bolsters were almost black, and it was filled with dirt and dust. After some restoration and a quick fix on the lansky, It's one of my sharpest knives. One of my favorites since I'm proud of how good it looks now compared to how I found it.
All I know is that it's a KA-BAR, model 1001, made in USA. I don't know when It was made, what kind of value it may have, when it went out of production, or what blade steel it is made out of. I would guess it's made out of a carbon steel judging by all the rust that was on it. Do any of you guys have any knowledge about this knife? Thanks.
