Could really use help identifying this.

I want to say its a 42c but it has no marks on it indicating 'limited edition' or serials like the others I have seen online have.

Blade is 440c

Looks real, maybe the blade was changed? I think all versions with the pocket clip had etchings on the blade "Limited Edition", XX/100 etc..

Did it not come with the original box?

It hurts the collectability not having the original blade but I personally find the etchings on the blade tacky so it would make a good EDC knife :)

Blade has not been changed. It was purchased direct from http://newgraham.com/ like in 2006-2008

It didnt have a silver presentation box- It was just the blue/white benchmade 42 box. Dont have it anymore though

I cannot remember if the 42MC had numbered blades or not. The one I had was a prototype so it was marked as such, but I'm not sure if the normal run was marked or not.

Edit: After a quick google search it looks like the ones I can find pics of were either numbered, or at least had Limited Edition etched on the blades.

It's a standard production model with the improved latch. IIRC when the re-released the 42, it was first in sandivick, then 440C and then they changed the latch.
