For the life of me I can't remember what style knife this is. I have been taping the bottom of my knife tubes with the number and style so any help would be great. I forget a lot one of the side effects from TBI due to Iraq so I apologize about always asking. If you came to my home you would be amazed that we don't own stock in post it notes hahaha.

Looks to me like a #66. It's a serpentine jack and I believe GEC called it a Pony Jack.

Doesn't the tube cap have the pattern number? And the tang stamp will have the corresponding number of which the first two numbers are the pattern. Third number is the main blade style (in your case a 1), the next number should be a 2 for two blades, and the last two digits are the year of manufacture.

Yep  The average age of the regulars here, I suspect you may not be alone in being kind of forgetful! ;)

Thanks guys so much I'm going to write it down now. It is what it is with memory game belive me my kids use it to their advantage lol

Bob I just learned something today ty so much now I feel like a fool hahaha

:D No need to feel that way. We're all here to help each other and share information.

Cory is correct, but the 66 is called the Calf Roper. The 68 has the Pony Jack.

Very interesting. I thought the stockman was the Calf Roper and the jack was the Pony Jack. I have a little more time now, so I just went to double check and the 66 is labeled simply as a serpentine jack. (You were right about the 68 being the Pony Jack) I guess I could have left the naming out of it altogether and saved some time and confusion. :foot:

Either way, nice to have you back posting again, Bob. This place isn't the same when you're away.

After 60 years and 2 strokes I have a lot of trouble remembering uh what were we talking about :D

That's a fine knife you have there. I really like the clip blades on the 66 & 68 jacks.
