Help identify this wood.

I've had this for more than 20 years . Have no idea what it could be . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
Looks like Osage orange to me that's been lightly torched.
 
This has just been sanded to 1200 grit , a coat of Danish oil finish and a light buff with white compound.
 
Looks like crotch wood, or a branch intersection. I don’t recognize the wood though. I’ve seen similar looking walnut, but that’s much more brown.

I've used Osage on many occasions and I'd say what you have is Osage Orange, Also known as Hedge wood.

If you take a heatgun and heat Osage it will weep dark colored sap from the pores, and darkens nicely, a process I refere to as toasting the wood.
