This knife belongs to a friend of mine. He has no idea of its origin and niether do I. He would like to know who made it if possable. It looks like it may be an old Imperial or I wouldn't bother you guys with it. The number stampings look like some old Imperials that I own (the layout of the numbers). There is no Providence,RI stamp on it though, just USA. The stag head threw me off too.Possably someone got creative with thier knife? If you could help me out with a manufacturer name that would be sufficient. Thanks Matthew

I have an old jack knife with the same look and stampings. It is red but has the same cracked ice look and bolsters. Looks like an Imperial to me.

Thanks Codger,That add will make my buddies day. Thanks to Upstream and thawk for your help too. I ran those patent numbers and got the same info Codger did. You guys are the best. Matthew

Here is the D-400BH (simulated Buffalo Horn)

And this style was also made under the Kingston and Ulster tangs. This is my Ulster 50D

And this is an Imperial Mexico variant.

In addition to being called "Stags Head", these were also called "Kameo Karved".

That's great stuff. I gotta get my buddy signed up to this forum. He's a big Boker knife fan but we'll convert him soon.:D He'll like all that info. Matthew

...bringing up this thread for new member Adelaide Photo. The Patent you mention is described by our old mate Codger. Welcome to Blade Forums Mate, another South Aussie....I notice you're 64 and I'm fast approaching that as well. Hoo Roo
